Tampere Sports & Expo is improving its parking services by increasing the number of parking spaces, standardizing pricing, and making payments easier.
The aim of the renewal is to reduce waiting times and make exiting the area smoother. The changes will take effect on September 1, 2025.
Paper parking permits will be phased out. In the future, parking must be paid for in advance or immediately upon arrival, either through the online store or a parking app. Parking will be monitored using license plate recognition, so parking tickets will no longer need to be checked by personnel when exiting.
There will only be one type of ticket: 15€ / day / parking space. For example, a car and trailer combination will require two tickets, one for each license plate. While parking for all three days of the Subcontracting Fair previously cost 45€, now one day's parking costs 15€, so the total price remains the same. Parking apps may add a service fee to the parking price.
Large visitor numbers combined with traffic arrangements due to the construction of the tram line may still cause congestion. Transit of motor vehicles on Hatanpään valtatie is prohibited on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., which affects visitor traffic to the Subcontracting Fair. Due to the restriction, private cars should arrive via Highway 3. Shuttle buses, taxis, and Tampere city public transport buses are allowed to operate on Hatanpään valtatie. The Realpark remote parking area is also available at Realparkinkatu 9.
Parking areas will be filled in order of arrival, starting with zones P3, P4, and P5. Parking attendants will guide the filling of spaces, and new parking areas will be opened as needed.
During events, when arriving at Tampere Sports & Expo via Highway 3, it is recommended to use exit number 43 (Kurikka, Linnakallio).
